There's some options you'll have to adjust to make it actually look good, and you shouldn't have any problems with performance unless you're playing on an underpowered Walmart laptop or a system from 1998.
It's just plain better than Direct3D and DirectDraw. This download allows D2 to use the Glide renderer converted to OpenGL.
